I don’t know why Ariel has remained one my favorite Disney princesses and The Little Mermaid as one of my favorite Disney movies (despite what others say about it being babaw with her “I’m 16 years old, I’m not a child”). But I remember singing to Part of Your World and reenacting her every underwater mermaid move on the bed. :)

Morning swimming at the clubhouse with Ali and Kean, pasalubong from Japan from the exchange student, then Korean food for dinner with my family! Best intermodule weekend ever! No books, no transes, no modules, just plain detox! :) Yes, I am now ready for the weekly exams til the end of the sem! Watch out 205/201 :>
"THE HEART HAS BORDERS
so science says
and yet even without the evidence
i agree with all my heart -
my heart has borders"
did you know the heart
the moment it was created
and the holes are there to stay
as we grow
and grow and grow
the lecturer did not say
how the holes
and bigger and bigger
until the area where the heart
is just one big hole -
An abyss, ultimately."
muscles, tendons, valves, atria, ventricles
they say they know how to finally figure out
the complex thing that is the heart
they reduced it into parts and pieces
named all their little components - one by one
but what I couldn’t figure out
is why they couldn’t identify and name
that part that always always aches"
Autism is a poorly-understood neurological disorder that can impair an individual’s ability to engage in various social interactions. But little 5-year-old Iris Grace in the UK is an excellent example of the unexpected gifts that autism can also grant – her exceptional focus and attention to detail have helped her create incredibly beautiful paintings that many of her fans (and buyers) have likened to Monet’s works.
Little Iris is slowly learning to speak, whereas most children have already begun to speak at least a few words by age 2. Along with speech therapy, her parents gradually introduced her to painting, which is when they discovered her amazing talent.
“We have been encouraging Iris to paint to help with speech therapy, joint attention and turn taking,” her mother, Arabella Carter-Johnson, explains on her website. “Then we realised that she is actually really talented and has an incredible concentration span of around 2 hours each time she paints. Her autism has created a style of painting which I have never seen in a child of her age, she has an understanding of colours and how they interact with each other.”
I’ve been following Iris on Facebook for a long time now, and she is so incredible, and has made so many strides in her learning and abilities!
October 18, 2014 - Community Visit at Valley 8, Paranaque
Pictures from Kuya Paul. Yaay for the intermodule weekend! This activity was so refreshingly different from the past eight weeks I have had taking one exam per week. It also gave me a different perspective of the bigger things in life (no, not that OS203 exam or that trans I have to finish), and of the challenges and struggles we as future physicians have to face and deal with in healing our patients and helping their families. :)

KFC Streetwise Bucket Meal with these two all the way in Paranaque, plus 2 hour car ride (with matching guess the song, sing out loud to the lyrics and games for bombels only) to the shop. Spot the odd one out (aka yung nakafrown sa smile pose, and yung di nakatingin sa camera na parang weirdo)!!
